white on white

"White on White" is an alternative approach to Samuel Beckett's text "Ping". It is a sequence of words without a narrator or dialogue, characterized by the absence of verbs, in which sentences are organized only by dots. The creature articulating this monologue struggles between two indeterminate states. It tries through episodic memory sequences that do not follow a consistent pattern to resonate a reality as it ignores the past and the future - a vicious cycle. _.mootpoint composes a performance in which sound and image either correlate or replace words from the original text. A sound environment in a mysterious room becomes a place of random memories, discoveries and experiments. The performance consists of a synthesis of acoustic and electronic soundscapes that, combined with speech and an experimental video projection, create an immersive experience.
